Course List

Overhead Safety: Pole Checking & Joint User Poles

Qualifies operatives to work safely on overhead telecoms infrastructure,

including testing pole condition before climbing.

Covers safe ladder and pole-top working, fall protection, and the poles are shared with power (joint user). Essential for engineers accessing the overhead network.

Underground Safety

Mandatory certification for operatives entering or working around underground telecoms chambers and joint boxes on safeguarded networks.

Covers confined-space awareness, gas and atmospheric hazards, safe access and egress, and correct use of equipment. A core requirement for underground network access.

Abrasive Wheels

Covers the safe selection, inspection, mounting and use of abrasive wheels and cutting equipment.

Delegates learn to identify wheel types,

check for damage, fit wheels correctly, and apply the right PPE and guarding. Reduces the risk of wheel failure and injury on site.

Safe Moving & Handling

Practical manual handling training tailored to the loads and equipment

operatives encounter in telecoms and civils work.

Covers assessing a lift, correct technique, team handling, and the use of aids to avoid

musculoskeletal injury. Helps employers meet their duties under manual handling regulations.

Safe Working in Civils: Deep Excavations

Focuses on the hazards of working in and around deep excavations,

including collapse, buried services and confined-space risks.

Covers shoring and support, safe access, edge protection and atmospheric monitoring. Prepares civils gangs to work safely below ground.

Asbestos Awareness

Provides the awareness training required for anyone whose work could

disturb asbestos-containing materials.

Delegates learn to recognise where asbestos is likely to be found, understand the health risks, and know the correct action to take if it is encountered. Helps employers meet their asbestos awareness obligations.

Tetra Flat Roof Awareness

Covers safe working on flat-roof sites using fall-restraint systems, typically for engineers accessing rooftop telecoms equipment.

Delegates learn to assess roof access, set up and use restraint systems correctly, and manage edge and fragile-surface risks. Designed for safe working at height on flat roofs.

Pole Top Rescue

Equips operatives to carry out a safe and rapid rescue of a colleague who has become incapacitated while working at height on a pole.

Covers casualty assessment, controlled lowering techniques and use of rescue equipment. A vital companion qualification for any team working on the overhead network.
